Flopped middle set, but Rock giving heavy action
UTG is a decent player for the limit, but has a vpip of less than 11% and virtually never raises preflop. My read here is either AA, KK or AK and that's it.
I'm not sure if I should have pushed on the turn or not. Comments welcome on the play of the hand. Re: Flopped middle set, but Rock giving heavy action
that's rough if he has KK. My money's going in on the turn. he has AK or AA enough that I can't fold it.

reraise pf, make it .40-.50 straight. this will help define where your hand is at compared to villain's. if villain is as tight as ur read says he is then he is folding all but AA/KK, maybe calling AKs. this will make decisions on following streets much easier

It's highly unlikely such a villain will flat call so you miss out on your chance to flop a set and stack him |

Re: Flopped middle set, but Rock giving heavy action
I guess my question is why push the turn?
My reasoning was that if he has KK, we're getting stacked no matter what. If I pushed 4th, there was some chance AK and maybe even AA might fold. I was hoping to induce him to raise me on the river... if he checked the river, I could still make a value bet or push or whatever. A min raise on the turn seemed too obvious. Did I miss an option here? |

A min raise on the turn seemed too obvious. [/ QUOTE ] it is 2NL, your line is fine too, whatever gets the money in the middle. Just as long as you don't consider folding this. or back out if spade/diamond hits. |
