My thinking behind the hand was trying to limp in cheap with the suited ace, when the raises went in I was still getting 3.5/1 to call so with straight and flush possibilities i did. After the flop i was given odds of 2.1/1 to call and unless my sources of info are wrong with two cards to come my odds of hitting the flush were 2/1 on the turn and 4/1 on the river so i went all in hoping the button would follow, i wasn't worried about the board because if i hit the flush, except the straight flush i had the nuts,if i missed i knew i was buggered, so i took a marginal decision for the chance to almost treble up.

After seeing their hands i thought they made worse plays as any, Q,AA,7,two hearts or trips had them beaten.

After this i received several hands worth of abuse from two players one who wasn't even in the hand, special mention to that idiot who i ended up at the same table with in a tournament last night and he sat out until he was moved to another table, when i went out i watched him for a while never seeing him play a hand worse than A,10 you know the type fold, fold, fold, fold, all in. But as Mr.Sklansky says in one of his brilliant books the weak-tight player folds too often, bets to much early with excellent hands and complains about being blown out by "garbage"

Anyway it now ranks as my favourite hand played and always brings a smile to my face.

I would say badly played,A2 suited or not=trash, you were getting the odds to call against 1 player not 3 .Your odds of hitting the flush on the turn is approx 5/1 your odds of hitting by the river is approx 2.8/1.

Appreciate the honesty, have only been playing since early December and didn't want to be one of those players sitting waiting for a pair of face cards to come,so if i'm understanding it right the odds that you find in the literature about are based on one on one.

Preflop is crappy. Fold (preferred) or raise, openlimping with such high blinds is usually bad.

You have to get it in on the flop though, you are easily getting the pot odds to draw (it doesn't matter that you are against multiple people as you are drawing to the nuts, the extra people just put more money in the pot)

Also, posts like this are more appropriate in the Multi-table Tournaments forum.

Also also, you never really "deserve" abuse, even if you did play the hand poorly. If you aren't confident about how you played, by all means post it on these forums. But don't let people's assholishness get to you.

Nobody deserves abuse even if they play a hand in the worst possible way and win.

One thing worth mentioning is that it's a low buy in so I would probably loosen up my play a bit also. I don't like to play A2 from anything but the button BUT if my table image is tight I may decide to play a hand OOP with almost anything.

Now after the flop when the two players in front of you raised you have to question whether the all in push was correct (over time, in this particular case it won so no worries there).

As for the odds I think you are correct. You never stated you were 2/1 to win, only that you had a 2/1 chance to hit your nut hand on the turn, which is correct. 9 outs * 4 = 36%. And it was only 3910 for you to call his all-in push to win a 16342 pot, not exactly bad pot odds.

So I say yes, it was a loose call, but you gambled and won. You understood the pot odds and chances of hitting your flush then made a decision. People can criticize this and you may choose to play a different way depending on the situation, but was it really "wrong"? I don't think so.

You just need to be careful about playing such a weak hand out of position, that's it.

I have played these Ace-low suited hands to try to catch a nice flush draw flop. But, you catch so rarely (under 3% of time to just flop a 4flush) that the equity doesn't seem to be worth it. I'm sure one of the math geniuses can figure out the exact figures...but I don't know if the reward justifies all of the limped pots. If I play that kind of hand now, I raise in late postion against few opps. Then I at least have control of the betting and have a chance to win the blinds right there.
