Default William who\'s next on your list?

The attack on stox was completely unjustified, particularly in a gambling world. Insurance is a wager, whether unjustified or not. Your attack on stoxpoker is the SAME attitude that all the lawmakers have against gambling in general; that it takes advantage of people's inability to control themselves etc. Any person should be able to make the rational decision as to whether they choose to accept or deny the wager.

Your outburst towards stoxpoker is similar to medieval attitudes towards Jews, where many people called them usurious scum. I would think we'd be above all that; particularly for something as benign as an offer of insurance. If a hurricane was headed to Florida, and Stox offered insurance to people in Alabama, where it was predicted there was only a 2% chance of the hurricane hitting, would you then have a similar outburst? Anyone who thinks their money is 100% safe in Neteller right now has been hitting the crackipipe too hard. It's obviously very likely to be safe, but there is always a chance, and many people WOULD LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY to save their rolls without worrying about it. That's not usury, it's life.

Also, shame on the mods who locked his thread. He's well respected enough and well established enough that if he's generous enough to offer that service to the thousands of nailbiting 2+2ers out there he should be applauded. I would assume we are all smart enough to negotiate a fair price, and don't need the government (mods) to protect us.

1) OP: your Jew analogy is appallingly offensive and misplaced.

2) Stox's post did not belong in this forum for a number of reasons, and the mods were right to lock it, and this isn't even close.

3) William's reaction to it, however, was very disproportionate.

That's all there is to say about this situation.
Move on.

I'm Jewish. The reason why I drew the analogy is because it's the same crap I hear about being a money loving Jew.

I'm surprised any poker player would get upset about ethically taking advantage of someone's judgment. William, perhaps you should quit poker? That turn bet you made with the nuts is giving fish -EV odds!! You're a bad man for taking advantage of their ignorance.

Also, ROFL @ the Jew/Middle Ages reference. Not quite the same thing.

It's obviously not the same thing, and not even closely on the same scale. My point is William's outburst is of the same MENTALITY. Blame the only one willing to offer "usurious" services.

William's attack was ridiculous. Beyond bizarre.

Some people want to feel safer and want to sleep at night.

No amount of reassurances from William or me or anyone else that their money is DEFINITELY safe in neteller is going to help some people.

Besides that, they are impatient and want it now and perhaps would be willing to pay whatever fee to get it as quickly as possible and will sleep better actually KNOWING that it's a done deal.

My GF took $3/mth insurance on her car-phone. She doesn't care that it's -EV and she will probably never need that insurance. It makes her feel better.
This is how insurance works in a LOT of situations is my understanding.

Stox posting it initially was fine. He probably didn't think it thorugh all the way. No biggie.
But he is trying to profit off this, right?
So for such a venture it obviously is more appropriate for him to buy an ad (on 2+2 or wherever else he chooses).

Just out of interest...does anyone really believe he would have paid out?
