Default Biloxi info?

I was planning on hitting up Biloxi/Gulfport for the first time and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good cardrooms and nearby cheap hotels. I mostly play limit ring games and NL tourneys. One of the earlier posts talked alot about the NL action at Beau Rivage but not much about the limit scene. Also, anyone know who has good poker room rates. I played at the goldstrike in Tunica and they had a pretty decent out-of-towner's deal($25 per night w/4 hrs minimum table time).

Thanks

Both the Beau and the IP have Poker Rates, you will have to call for more info, the price will vary greatly depending on weeknight or weekend, hopefully your not planning on coming for Mardi Gras huh? As for as limit goes, I don't play any limit poker, hopefully someone here can fill you in on it better than I can. The hotel scene is like anywhere else, ton of chain hotels that you can get a great deal on.

Sun-Thur at Beau the poker rates are $69 and $99 on the weekends. The rooms are pretty nice. I was there this weekend and saw one 10/20 limit game at the Beau. The weekend before I heard there was a really sweet 6/12 game but I missed that. I heard that IP has more limit options but I can not confirm. Otherwise the standard 4/8 games are always going, 5 to the flop, usually passive etc. If there are any really cheap hotels in the area I am not sure where.

Thanks alot...I just found a Sunday-Thursday 69 Friday/Saturday 89 at the Palace Casino but I've read conflicting posts as to whether they have poker post-katrina. Any one know about this?

Palace does not have a Poker Room, it did not reopen along with the Casino after Katrina.

Hey, I used search to find this thread because I didn't want to start a new one.

My friends were planning on going to Vegas for spring break, but some people found it too expensive to get there and such and now they want to go to the beach instead. They natually said FL (we live in Atlanta), but some of us still want to have the casino experience. So I'm wondering if Biloxi is decent in terms of beaches? Is there a non-casino bar scene? I just want to see how this might compare to Panama City or something.

And since we were gonna have to spend so much in Vegas, we might as well just stay at the Beau, right?

Biggest games you can always find going are a 2/5PLO, 2/5NLHE, 10/20 limit at the Beau. I've seen interest lists for 15/30 but never seen it go.

The beaches in Biloxi are beautiful, the water sucks though. You can go about 11 miles by boat though and be in the same water as in Panama City at the barrier Islands, gorgeous all the way around. What month you planning on coming? As far as games, each month it seems to pick up more and more. This past week the IP has been spreading any game you want, with on average around 30 tables going, the IP Classic has really created a buzz, poker wise. As far as the non-casino bar scene, it's okay, but the bars in the casino's are great. Hit me up before you come, I can give you a lot of information to have a great time.

Thanks for the reply! I was starting to regret not starting a new thread.

We would be coming through mid-March. Is the water so bad nobody ever gets in it at all? I don't think any of us care much about actually swimming, but the option is nice.

I take it from your saying the casinos have great bars that they have clubs too? How does the Beau compare to Vegas in terms of a casino/resort like Mirage, CP, etc? Or does it mainly just have a hotel and a casino?

And although I prefer Omaha/8 (obv) I don't really need a monster spread of games--we'll mostly be playing 1/2NLHE, which is pretty much ubiquitous to my understanding. But it's good to know we can head to the IP for a bigger poker spread. Which casinos have good SnGs or maybe low buy in MTTs that run at set times?

Again, thanks for the info. It's way harder to find stuff about Biloxi than LV.

No problem. You need to search for my thread on tournaments in Biloxi, I listed all the tournaments running. You can find low buy-in tournaments regularly on the coast between the Beau Rivage and the IP. You can get in the water, I still suggest you either get on a ferry out to Ship Island, or give me a shout, I have a bigger boat, will gladly take y'all out to Horn Island, maybe even a little offshore fishing if you like. The Beau Rivage is a full fledge resort, it looks exactly like the Bellagio, just on a smaller scale, it is a Billion Dollar Resort though. Personally, I think y'all will have a blast in Biloxi. I ate at the new steak restaraunt Saturday at the Beau, it's called BR Prime, if you go, get the 28 oz bone in rib eye, best steak I have ever had.
