What went wrong here?
Okay, i know I should have raised the flop in retrospect. i guess i was trying to slow play. and badly at that. Hero SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] utg folds, utg+1 calls, 4 folds, villain calls, hero calls, BB calls. FLOP POT : 4 SB, 4 players 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero bets , BB folds, UTG+1 calls, villain raises, hero 3 bets UTG+1 calls, villain caps hero calls, UTG+1 calls TURN POT: 8 BB, 3 players T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] hero bets , UTG+1 calls, villain raises, hero 3 bets, UTG+1 calls, villain caps , hero calls, UTG+1 calls RIVER POT: 20BB 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] hero bets, UTG+1 raises, villain 3bets hero calls, UTG+1 caps villain calls, hero calls. I felt I really needed to show more aggression at the start. I thought I didn't want to scare away my customers, but since I was SB, I already saw their action. Actually, if I had raised PF i'm fairly confident everyoen would have come along for the ride anyway... capping the turn might have been a mistake too. But the board looked awful blank to me. did i play this as bad as I think I did. flipping bullets! grrrrr. i need more discipline. |

Hero calls in the SB (you said BB in the OP) with AA?
Yuck, terrible. This hand sucks and is total spew from the turn onward. BTW I'm pretty sure bollocks doesn't get censored around here. |

Raise PF, for starters.
OF course they would have come along, having put money in already, but often enough, they'd miss the flop and you make more money. That you saved a SB here doesn't make the play right. Call down after he raises you on the turn. He probably has 57s there? Fold the river at the latest after UTG+1 comes alive. [ QUOTE ] did i play this as bad as I think I did. [/ QUOTE ] Let's see: Preflop: screwup. Flop: good: Turn: screwup: River: screwup. Ah well, it's among your 1k hands... |

Raise pre-flop, you have a pretty good hand and want to build some value, and maybe you'll fold 57o.
Flop fine. On the turn you need to be asking yourself what does this guy bet this way with and perhaps he isn't worried about an overpair. Call the raise, if you had a read you might 3-bet and call. On the river the board paired which might have counterfited villains two pair, or filled him up or gave him trips. What it didn't do is improve your hand enough to spend much money on it. I'd probably c/c. If villain was really overplaying a flush draw make a note. Edited to note UTG+1 came alive on the river, you are done and can fold when it is two back to you |

*Never* slowplay pre-flop.
For the beginning, never slowplay at all. The flop is ok, the turn is way to aggressive, the river is probably a fold. |

On the river, someone else decides he likes his hand also. Do you like a single pair after two others have declared every opportunity they got that they like their hand better than any other player at the table could POSSIBLY like theirs?? A single pair is the second lowest winning level in hold'em. |

You are spewing multiple bets by continuously reraising someone who is saying very clearly that he has you beat. Not sure what else there is to say.
You could maybe bet-call the turn, but I think I prefer to check-call it after the flop cap. Bet-3-betting is lighting money on fire. The results of your hand don't matter. |

*shudder*
balls^n i shoulda folded the turn after it was raised, huh? or was it somewhere else that i should have twigged: despite the strength of my over-pair, they're screaming 2 pair or better...? damn damn damn. BAD PLAY!!! reprehensible, feculent, dire play and i should hang up my poker gloves forever. i know 2k hands isn't alot but i thought it would at least teach me better. |
