quick pocket pair question
Example:
2/4 6-max. You're in the small blind with 88, and TAG or unknown CO raises to 14. What do you do? What pairs do you just call with, if any? |

Re: quick pocket pair question
I fold some and 3-bet the rest. Where I draw the line is sort of image and player dependant.

Re: quick pocket pair question
I fold nothing except like, 22/33/44 occasionally b/c I hate them. I probably reraise JJ or better. Stack sizes are obviously also a factor.

Re: quick pocket pair question
I definitely raise with jacks and never ever 66. In between those in depends on situation. I'd say TT+ though against unknown/random villain.

Re: quick pocket pair question
You have to mix up your play against the regulars.
I cll about 70% time, and 3 bet about 30% If you always 3 bet, or if you alsways callm you would be eazy to read. ps. I fold 0% of the time |

Re: quick pocket pair question
Against a typical button raiser, I reraise to 52-60 almost every time. Your way ahead of their range of hands, your out of position and you want to take the hand down. When called I pretty much bet every flop.
I'd estimate that by playing this way you take it down preflop 75% of the time, and 65% of the time when called and you bet on the flop. |

Re: quick pocket pair question
I ~never raise TT or lower if the guy who opened will never fold to my 3bets and won't play extremely straightforward postflop.

Re: quick pocket pair question
My default is to always RR. I will give up on a lot of flops if called though.
