Default 10/25 Live, river C/R

So I'm playing at the fantastic Resort East Casino in Indiana. Blinds are 10/25, its a full table, most players are loose passive. There are not that many fish, but still people will limp preflop with a wide range of hands and slowplay good hands. Villain at this table bought in for 8k and seems like one the smarter people at the table. My stack is 4k. I guess my image is just aggressive because I am one of the few people that will raise/reraise preflop and c-bet the flop. I haven't bluffed at all besides continuation bets.

I'm in the BB with 88. After about 6 people limp in I raise to 175 and end up getting 3 callers. The villain in this hand limped in EP and he was the first to call my raise. Most of the limpers will have crap hands. anyway...

FLOP: 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I bet 500, expecting to only get calls from people with a 10 or a flush draw, or a sneakily slow played overpair. Plus no one raises.

Villain in EP calls, everyone else folds.

Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I check, he checks

River K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check, he bets 500, and I check raise to 1700.

Like it or no?

So you're trying to push him off his flush by repping a boat?

are you trying to rep KK? does he think that you'll bet the turn with K of clubs? i don't erally see what you're tying to rep there. and what do you put him on?

or do you just put him on a 10 and trying to bluff his value bet.

if you think that he's trying to VB a 10, i like it

From my experience, live donks will almost never fold a flush to that river raise.

The opponent would have to be value betting RAZOR thin, before I would even think of doing this.

I believe optimally, it would be best to make a smaller raise or much bigger one.

Like someone else said, unless you think he will v bet thin, I don't like.

Also, since when is there a 10/25 game at Resorts? How often does it run and is it generally a good game? (thanks)

when the type of player you describe bets 500 on the river on this board, he's usually not folding for 1200 more (in a ~4000 pot no less) - particularly given your image.....
