I'm working on expanding my game, becoming more aggressive with position, being more aware of weakness and attacking it. Watching various betting patterns and taking advantage of weaker players, etc. Typically I've played a relatively ABC game, more mathematical than anything, and it's served me well. I usually play the 22, 33 or 55 sng's. PREFLOP: Guy limps in EP, I have a marginal holding, but position and want to either win it right there or isolate, so I make the raise. Unfortunately the BB tags along as well, ugh. FLOP: Alright, a flop that I can represent has hit my hand works out well. The BB checks, the limper leads very weakly, 80 chips into a pot of 310. Sensing his weakness, I attack and make it 200 to go. He calls out of position, WTF? (pot is now 710 chips) TURN: Alright, this completes the potential flush draw, also puts a straight draw out, etc. He checks, I lead for half the pot and he calls. He didn't check-raise, so he still seems weak. Pot is now 1,460. RIVER: He leads 100 stinking chips on that card into a pot of almost 1500? I don't think so numbnuts! Sure, I know I'm beat here, he's probably got a weak ace and missed his one-card flush or straight draw or something. So I push. Thoughts? |
