I would just check it down. if you bet and he had a busted draw or a pair of 5's - you wouldn't get paid off anyway - if he hit his miracle 9 on the river - your getting the worst of it against his trips or worse a full house. an easy check for me. no?

He could also have a weaker ace or be looking you up with a queen, which are more probable than the the holdings you listed IMO.
