You can't semi-slow play this drawing board. You should have bet more on the turn and made him pay more for the draw or to let you know that he had a deuce.

I guess I was afraid of a 2, didn't think he'd call my flop raise w/ a fd, but was a little confused by his $1 bet, hence the call.

I see that raising would make more sense as a reraise would get me to throw the hand away.

Raise preflop to narrow it down to UTG+1 and you with position and initiative, or maybe take it down.

I don't mind just calling flop to let a safe card come off, raise turn AI, don't fear the duck, draws will call.
