Default Chicago

Probably going to be playing this game tomorrow night for the first time. So, it is 7stud with the high spade in the hole splitting the pot with the high? A few other things: Ace of spades wins over King of spades right? Is the 7th street card used as one of the hole cards or just the first 2 down cards? Thanks kidz.

The way I've played, Ace of spades is the high spade, and all three down cards count. Adds to the capriciousness of the game, as the last card can change everything (if the As is not already dealt, or if it is someone's up card, etc).

yeah. starting hand requirements have to be pretty tight on this one.

start with the A or K of spades in the hole. or 3 really good high-hand cards. too much action and the A is almost certain to be dealt already. play it like high-low. play for a scoop or make sure your half of the pot is almost a lock with more than 3 players in...

its a fun game. can make for some pretty interesting hands.

we also played a version we dubbed 'South Side' - Low spade in the hole splits the pot instead of High spade.

makes for even bigger looser pots.
