I'm relatively new also, but I can tell you to go to the MTT threads and read the FAQ, then read every single thread, every hand that is analyzed (& picked apart)
Then read them all again, and again
And play a heck of allot more small $ Multis.

GOOD LUCK

You only have 17 tourny's under your belt. Play more i say maybe a thousand to see how you run in the long run. But yeah the MTT forum is a big help.

If someone sucks out on me, I throw chairs and cuss out my opponent...I guess you probably already do that.

One of the big differences between an MTT and STT's is that you need to loosen up a lot in an MTT early. Unlike an STT, you really need to start accumulating chips early, not just when the blinds get higher. Certain skills from STT's do transfer, such as blind stealing and pushbotting but you have to throw (almost) everything you know about ICM away.

The payouts in MTT's are much steeper than in an MTT so you really have to be playing for first, not settling for squeaking into the money as you might in a stt. This means that you need to push every edge, regardless of whether it may send you packing from the tournament or not.

Tale a look at the anthology of wisdom in the mtt forum for more information.
