Default MTT ethics

Not sure if this topic has been covered before, I don't frequent this forum much. When I was in the bahamas for the PCA I heard that some players would buy out someones seat when they got deep in a major tournament say the stars 1 million guaranteed and then have a MTT ringer come in and play it. They would offer anyone they knew like 95% of the equity they had in the tournament.

Is this a common known practice?
Is this unethical?
Is this against sites TOC's?

No discussion about this?

Some of the names mentioned were high profile 2+2ers and according to the talk I heard they had recently taken down one of the big sunday tournamnts(Not going to name names because this is second hand info, although I'm sure others are aware).

I would think that the people who do this would not talk about it and the people who know about it will not acknowledge it. Therefore I have no idea how common it is but I would assume that well less than 1% of players do this

It is definitely unethical

I don't think I have ever read a site's TOC

Yeah, I was surprised to hear it. Wouldn't expect people too talk out in the open about this at the PCA with people they barely know. It's like going into a bar and bragging about killing someone.

How come this isn't getting more attention?

Well guess this isn't a big deal then.

I'll remember to bump this thread in 2 months when a big name 2+2er gets outed or busted for this.

I think your title should be "basically Sklansky" after this response, DUCY?

I have had mine for 3 years now.

I have seen this avatar before but it was long after I started posting. I highly doubt mine was already in use when I took it, more likey the other way around.

Also I would have likely heard about it in my 500+ posts before this.
