Safe to download and play poker in computer lab?
i am currently in class in a computer lab. would it be safe to download AP and play in the lab? thanks.

If someone savvy sees you playing they could install software on that computer to log your keystrokes and gain your password next time you want to play.
Semi-slim chance of that happening but it could happen, not really worth the risk. |

Also be alert to what the specific rules about use of the computer labs are at your institution. (At the one where I work, one of the conditions you agree to when the university gives you free internet access is that you will not use it for personal financial gain of any kind.) I would be considerably more worried about being cut off from the computer lab, which you need access to for your course, than about a spy stealing your password.

Whatever, just use VNC and have your password saved on your home computer. If you don't want to type in your VNC password on the public computer, use a USB password key (i.e. roboform).
But really, don't play in labs unless you are a gambling addict. Don't you have other things to do? |
