Default Chargers to bring Martyball back for another year

Did anyone acutally think a team that went 14-2 was going to fire it's coach for mistakes players made in the playoffs?

Linky

He did refuse to sign a 1 year contract extension so maybe he only has 1 more year left in him anyway.

Yes.
Per WFAN, the organization was so thrilled with those 14 wins, that the contract extension included a buyout clause for $1 million (compared to his would-be $4.5m sallary) - would anyone not named Ricky Williams not turn that down?

As a Broncos fan, I couldn't be happier.

I know exactly what he meant, and it makes no sense. Marty is notorious for always making the playoffs and then losing. How this makes a division rival's fan happy makes no sense.

Times Broncos in the last 5 years have played Chargers in regular season : 10

Times Broncos have ever played Chargers in the playoffs : 0

*shrug* I guess there's a certain level of satisfaction watching a division rival choke in the playoffs (although you may be sitting at home)?

Firing a guy who got his team to a 14-2 record would be absurd.

Though it is obvious that next season will be his last as Chargers head coach.
