Starcraft 2 in the works?

They launched Starcraft after how many years of beta testing/balancing? Two? Three?

I'd be surprised if they got out the next SC before 2010.

Some exec "hoping" there'll be one soon means nothing. Sadly, I don't see Blizzard spending too much resources on other projects as long as WoW continues to kick ass.

Besides, I'd rather want Diablo 3 over SC2.

What is the point? Starcraft 1 is perfectly fine. Besides, there are tons and tons of great RTS games out there.

They should focus their resources on Wow or better yet something new altogether.

Well there are tons of FPS games but it doesn't stop developers from trying to create bigger and better games. If Blizz decided to create a Starcraft 2, I have little doubt that it will have improvements over the original.

I gave up waiting and bought company of heroes after reading the review "best rts since starcraft"...anyways...its pretty friggin good.

That's probably true, but Starcraft at this point is all about the hardcore competitive gamers, and those guys don't really care about fancy graphics. And on the gameplay side, they already have a time-tested, well-balanced game in the original. A game that's cheap and runs well on any old piece of junk, spreading the Blizzard gospel to the developing world.

I'm not saying Starcraft 2 wouldn't be a great game. I'm just not instaconvinced that it's the best way for Blizzard to spend tens of thousands of man hours and millions of dollars.

As far as other developers also constantly trying to make bigger/better versions of the same thing...maybe they shouldn't either.

Which is both a blessing but for their bottom-line revenues probably more of a curse. With updated graphics and other additions (units, maps, maybe even races) I'm sure Starcraft will start to have a much wider customer base.

Personally I'm hoping for a World of Starcraft.

o man, while I'd love an SC2, it wasn't the graphics which made this game, so while there would be improvements, the great gameplay i don't think would change all that much...that being said, i hope it comes, but at the moment, looking for more news on Diablo 3...

I want SC2 because I want more Raynor. I want more Kerrigan. I want more Zeratul. I want more of the best RTS storyline ever made.

A new game that's fun and balanced would be awesome.
