Default KK out of the blinds..

or out of position in general, but especially in the blinds. Say you smooth call a 3x pre flop raise or re-raise him, anyway its heads up and the flop is AT2 rainbow. Talking about full stack cash games. I personally like to just try to keep the pot small and go to a showdown, but I hate this situation and would like some other opinions.

What exactly is your question or hypothesis? Sounds like you play it right, other than smooth-calling the raise.

I'd reraise, and if raised again (if we're truly deep-stacked) I might fold, depending on the player's style and my read.

However, if he just called my reraise preflop, I'd continue on that flop. If he calls that bet, I'm pretty much done with it.

Default Re: KK out of the blinds..

In a deep stack cash game, there is rarely a time I am not reraising KK.

So heads up after a call of my re-raise, I am aggressive on this flop most of the time. I will bet out OOP with my normal value bet range, say 2/3 to 3/4 pot. Sometimes, I will check/call. Sometimes, I will checkraise but this is really read dependent on my opponent. If I get checked behind, I will most likely lead out on the turn, regardless of the card.

In general, a hand like KK likes to be in control of the betting. This is really important because when an A comes on the flop, that lead out value or continuation bet will take it most of the time.

As well, you have to think about your opponents hand. On this flop of AT2, what could villain have? Since you re-raised him and he called, you can narrow it down a lot. AA probably would have kept pushing preflop. AK or AQ or possible. TT could be possible depending on how loose this guy is. 22 is unlikely. AT is unlikely.

So if the guy has AK he is probably pretty happy and if he has AQ he is probably proceeding with caution.

I don't mind this situation. Only a guy with AK here is likely to try and push me around.
