i'd read Getting started in hold'em (by ed miller) first. then i would suggest little green book by phil gordon

or Harrington on Hold'Em 1-3 by dan harrington, if you wanna play tourneys.

Many people recommend HOH1 since the early tournament topics relate well to cash games. It's on my shelf to read, but havent't gotten to it yet. NLHTAP is good, but pretty in depth. I liked LGB, but it seems to be mainly about playing big hands.

HOH1 is pure gold, also for cash games.

Agreed.

I also endorse GSIHE first. And of course I think grinding short stacks is a wonderful way to learn NLHE without paying for your experience the hard way. Playing the strategy itself is rather mindless, though, so the trick is to learn a lot by watching other people play and putting them on hands while you're doing all the folding.

You'd also probably want to steal blinds a bit in a NL25 online game.

I'm very grateful for your prepositions if I could just know what all the initials mean. If anyone could give full name of the books, please.

GSIH = Ed Miller's Getting Started in Hold'em
LGB = Phil Gordon's Little Green Book
HOH = Dan Harrington's Harrington on Hold'em

These books are to be read in that order as well, BTW.

BTW = by the way
