I asked a friend of mine (who sells cameras) the same thing, and he told me that what I am looking for is what they, in the industry, refer to as a "unicorn."

Now what kind of trendy multitasking readily breakable gizmo can I interest you in today?

email - no need for
text messaging - i use it a little bit but dont need a qwerty keyboard or anything

i suppose i forgot to add that i would like to have a way to sync my phone to my computer (again bluetooth not necessary, a usb cable will do) so that i can backup my calendar and contacts to my computer

Its an older phone (two years old or so), but I have the Motorola MPX-220. You can find them new on eBay for like $60-70. Its good phone and sounds like what you are looking for. Syncs up with Outlook very well. The only real drawback to mine is that the earpiece volume isnt high enough, but I think they've worked on that with the subsequent releases. I use a headset 90% of the time when I use it, so it doesnt bother me that much.

That's a weird set of requirements. The problem is that most phones with decent calendar functionality are PDAs. I have a Blackberry Pearl which has solid contact and calendar synching with Outlook. I'm fairly certain it's the smallest PDA around (about the size of a closed RAZR). The phone reception is no different from other phones I've had. Thing is, the real benefit of the phone is email, so I'm not sure you want to shell out the coin for it.

Get a Nokia. They make the most reliable and well-built cell phones.
