Default what person do you like to read books in?

i overheard my grandma, whos been around since the van buren administration, say about the book shes reading,
"usually i cant stand books that are written in the first person, but i really like this one."

ive never heard anyone else care about the person the book is written in.

also, how do you feel about books written in second person ("you")? i thought it was such a novel concept when i read "bright lights, big city" by some jackass when i was like 14, but now i think it would just be kind of annoying. any thoughts? for what its worth, im writing a short story about a burglar, which has led me to post this.

Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas by Tom Robbins is also written in second person and manages to be almost readable despite that.

Parts of The Death of Artemio Cruz are in 2nd person, and that book is OK. OP, you should probably not write your story if you're making a poll about what person to cast it in.
