Repetitive TV quirk thread

Sometimes there are stupid things on TV that you just see over and over, and are mildly amusing. Sometimes they are annoying, sometimes not. This could be anything, a repetitive plot device (sitcom character gets gambling problem, runs his money up, goes broke) or an editing technique. I'll start with one my sister-in-law has pointed out to me:

Whenever the TV news does a story on obesity, they show the same stock footage of the same overweight people walking in the park eating ice cream cones or whatever. I'm not sure what this adds to the story.
