10NL - Pushing the nuts on the flop

I'm mainly a limit player, microlimits and mostly 6-max, but I occasionally play NL because it's a nice distraction, but I also try to take the game seriously because I find myself enjoying it and want to become at least half-decent. [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

To this hand. Preflop: I can't stop raising, but I'm trying to (my 6-max limit style is kind of a sLAG). I do usually open-limp suited connectors like this in NL, but occasionally I raise for fun and/or (unlikely) profit. Berate as you will. I get a single call, from SB, who seems like a tight player (around 18/5/2.5) but only over an orbit or so. I haven't seem him get out of line during this very limited sample size.

Flop: I flop the nuts and he bets at me, a reasonably sized/standard bet. I have the frickin' nuts so I think for a while and shove because I don't want to be faced with a hard decision if the turn makes a flush or a full house possible. Is this okay play, or should I learn to slowplay?

Think about it, who is going to call you? As mentioned, raise pot-sized and your opponent has a substantial part of his stack in the middle, anyway. If he reraises you, you can get it all-in. If the turn bricks, you can get him all-in. If the turn comes the third spade, you indeed have a decision to make. But for the moment, you flopped the nuts, you want to extract more than $0.5 with it, don't you?

I like the pf raise in MP.

you probably shouldnt slowplay, and while shovin is ok against shorty, id raise to $2.50. This can make him shove, or just call with hands like QJ, AT, etc because its $1.75 more, rather than for his whole stack. Also, dont b too scared of a flushdraw or fullhouse coming on the turn, if he had a flushdraw/2pair/set he's going allin with it on the flop anywayz

This is fine vs. a $5 stack. Vs. a full stack I'd probably just pot it.

No way. You're beat by KQ and there's a FD on the board and you're in 10NL. The PF raise is ok but RR a smaller amount...like maybe half his stack. Plus, if he's on a flush draw he's got a ton of outs.
