$50 PLO: mid set on a non drawy board - lay it down?
Hi everybody,
I am rediscovering PLO and after some beginnerish mistakes like getting stacked with non top sets or with nutstraights without redraws I find myself in this situation: Reads: Button is firing about 100% if checked to, donīt know much about SB, seems loose/passive so far with 50% vpip. Would you rather lead the flop? When SB called the flop bet I put him on top/bottom set or maybe two pair. Thanks much in advance, Wolf PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha High, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) MP2 ($29.25) MP3 ($48.50) CO ($26.75) Button ($48.55) SB ($33.65) Hero ($53.60) UTG ($48.75) UTG+1 ($47.70) MP1 ($77.85) Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 raises to $1, 4 folds, Button calls $1, SB calls $0.75, Hero calls $0.50. Sometimes you will be against KK, sure, but would you really consider folding second nuts against an all-in guy on flop ?

Yeah I would at least consider it - I mean getting action on a rainbow board even with 2nd nuts is always a little alarming.
as my last few non top sets lost to bigger ones I may have become overly careful and now see monsters under the bed all the time. |

Re: $50 PLO: mid set on a non drawy board - lay it down?
I'd lay it down unless I have known SB to over play 44 or something like it. The only other serious hand you might be beating is something like KQT9 (gut shot+top 2) This is one of those hands where you gotta go by how quickly he raises, how happy he was to get all the money in... and what you know about the opponent.
If he's got just a bit less money I probably would call. but as it stands... short of a read, I'd bail. |

I remember him pushing very quickly - good thing to mention in future posts, ty. How do you like my flop play? Wolf |
