Default what is a nit?

could someone define nit please? I looked in the list of definitions in the FAQ but it's not in there. I do know what FPS means now though.

Also is the "in before lock" thing just a game to see who can post before the thread is locked?

Thanks

1) nit = super tight nut peddler guy
2) in before lock is not only a way of having a game, but also of telling a poster that their thread sucks.

locked.
