Default Any Lake Tahoe Reviews?

Hey guys -

Friend of mine invited me on a ski trip up to Tahoe next week. It is about 8 hours from my place, and I can find other places to snowboard. The deciding factor may be the poker in town. Can any of you guys give me TR's or thoughts on any of the local cardrooms?

Thanks!

I was just up in Tahoe yesterday to pick up some new skis for my Whistler trip nxt week (brag), and decided to play some poker while up there. I stayed in South Lake Tahoe and the only room that had any games going was Harvey's. When I started playing at 9PM they had about four 2-3nl and two 3/6 limit games going. Apparently they have bigger games on the wknds (3-5nl and 5-10nl).

MontBleu also got a room that fairly new I believe, but seems to be kind of slow. Horizon got one table but I've I don't think they get any games goin there very often. On the north shore, the only casino that has a room (two tables), is the Nugget. They spread a 3/6/12 game most nights and a 2-2nl game one night a week, I think wed. night.

But yeah, Harvey's is the best option in the area by far, the games are good, even though I managed to drop $200 in a very good 2-3nl game (beat), but it's all pretty low-limit, unless you're there on a busy wknd.

Stuff like this is what drives me nuts when I go to poker rooms. Do you spread it or not? Not this, "well we spread it one night a week" crap. I found that in a few rooms in the Reno area and its downright annoying. Wtf, I mean, you can't spread it any other night, just THAT specific night?

Back to the main topic.

I was extremly dissapointed with the lack of poker selection this past September during the Harveys WSOP circuit event. 3/6 limit and some 1/2 NL was all I could find at Harveys. none of the other rooms had any games. Monte Bleau was completely empty (not even a manger).

Hmmmm...kinda disappointing. I may or may not end up going. If I do go, I will be there a couple days and let you guys know how things went at various places.

Thanks for the info.

Not True. The Hyatt has 4 (or 5) tables. Haven't been there in a while so I'm not sure what they're spreading thse days. Only played 4/8 limit when I was there/
