Default I foled a Set of Jacks

Full Tilt .10/.25

Button is a Nit 18/6 over like 120 hands we both have 100BB stacks

Pre-Flop Button bets $.85 I'm in the BB so I three bet to like $2.75 everyone folds button calls

Flop Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I check, Button Checks

Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
I check Button is All in so I fold

How was the flop check? Normally I bet 4/5 pot here even if the flop completly misses my hand but for some reason I put him on AK with the NIT stats. (I've been running bad over the last 10k hands so I might be seeing monsters)

BET THE FLOP! Flop check is really bad, you're only behind QQ/AK here, but a lot of scare cards can hit on the turn (any ace, any king, and nine, any spade, maybe even any 8 if he'd call a RR with 99). As played, turn is a pretty easy fold, you're now behind AA,KK,QQ, and any lone ace, and given villain's nitty stats, he's got you smoked (he probably has the ace, leaving you with some outs to fill up, but nowhere near enough to call a push).

And now you have a great lesson about slowplaying sets on dangerous flops! Cheaper than learning at live $10-25, to be sure.

Of course you'd be delighted if two spades called a big flop bet, even though the hand would probably turn out the same. You would have played it in a way to make a lot of money when the turn was the 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Turn fold is trivial given your read.

Yeah I think just about everyone folds the turn....bet the flop though and you may have taken the pot down there.
