Why aren't Wii's available?

I have been looking everywhere in my area to purchase a Nintendo Wii (mainly Best Buys) but no retailer has them. They also don't know when they will be getting shipments of them. Does anyone know the reason for this?

Um, because they are selling really well? I was at a Target in Denver yesterday and they had 3 PS3's but no Wii's.

QFT. Also, try Targets just before they open and again from 10-noon. At least, that's when the Targets in Orange County were getting them in.

I found one at a Target a week or two ago at 9am or so right as the store opened, but it was a return. If you ask any employee anywhere if they know when they are getting a new shipment of Wii's in, they will say they have no idea. Don't know if they're telling the truth or full of [censored].

People are trading their PS3's for wii's straight up. That's how popular they are. Demand for the wii is through the roof and they will be hard to find in stores until atleast the end of March.

God knows I want one so he's punishing me (and everyone else by default).

Either that or there are a lot of people that want them.

I wish I wanted a PS3 so I could just grab one on eBay for retail.

The fact that these are still so hard to get is making me feel better and better about the deal I got on eBay right after launch. Wii plus an extra wiimote and nunchuk for $360, and not having to pay tax, wasn't such a bad deal after all.
