hand from stars $55K, just in the money
Comments on all streets are welcome…
Stars $55K, just into the money. I have 76K, my opponent has 97K, blinds are 1500/3000. My opponent is a passive calling station. Numerous times I saw him put his whole stack in with 2nd pair on the flop. Opponent minraises to 6K, I’m in the BB with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], I call. Flop is 2s 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I check, he bets 6K into the 13K pot. I am pretty certain he has an overpair. I am also certain he will call if I go all in (no fold equity.) I think I’m even money against 77-QQ. Knowing this, should I go all in? Anyway, I called. The turn was an offsuit 4. I checked, he bet 15K, I made a questionable call. The river was an offsuit J. I checked, he checked with 88 and won. I was down to 50K chips and busted soon after. |

With bottom pair/flush draw on the flop, I don't mind the call on the flop.
Personally on the turn I would either push or fold. IMO, playing against you on that board, if you call flop and turn you're almost certainly on a draw, and I know where I am in the hand. If you raise the turn, that presents me with more possibilities - did he flop the nuts? top two? was he holding 78 and just made his hand? That's an ugly board for anyone holding the hand range you mentioned. Just my two cents. |

go all-in, the call preflop is fine.
You have 4 to 1 odds on the call preflop, this seems ultra obvious to me. On the flop, anything other than pushing is bad. Folding is ultra weak , calling is bad because if u hit a K or a diamond ure oponent probably wont double u up. U need to push and hope to win the race. |

fold pre-flop...
After calling, get it all-in on the flop one way or another. |

I would probably call that minraise PF with most reasonable hands against a crummy player. K2s is barely reasonable but with 3-1 odds i'll take it. You can c/r all in on a flop like this since you are probably a coinflip for the next 2 cards. Against a weak player I might also bet out and try to take the pot down right away, then reevaluate if he raises. C/c is weak and screams diamonds IMO.

if you can't trust him to fold an overpair to heavy action just call and bluff the scare cards. c/r turn all in and he has some trouble calling with just a pair.
i mean if you know he's not gonna fold semibluff pushing doesn't really have any value. |

You're 50/50 with any overpair < KK. Calling pf and not getting it all-in with this flop is bad. |

Re: hand from stars $55K, just in the money
i think your line was ok
on the turn you could have as many as 14 outs if my math is right; since you will probably get some extra $ if you hit its ok in my book nice hand |
