Default Popular movies that you hate

I know there are movies are there that seem to be really popular or cult classics. Some I agree are awesome, but some are just plain bad in my eyes. Just curious about what movies are considered to be popular, but you hate them. I'll start:

Napoleon Dynamite - Worst movie I've ever seen, by far
Super Troopers - I really don't get the hype around this one either

I didn't really feel Napoleon Dynamite, but I can see the fun.

Super Troopers was really funny.

"Requiem for a Dream" was terrible.

Napoleon sucked, I only thought it was cool how he hooked up with ponytail at the end but I'm pretty sure they don't even [censored] for like 2 years what the hell.

Any movies that start with "lord of the rings" or "star wars"

I saw this thread title and thought "Ooh, a thread I'll actually like." Your choice of movies, however, sucks balls. (Being a Heinlein fan makes me a little more prone to like Super Troopers, though.)

The first two movies that I thought of before opening the thread have already been mentioned: Donnie Darko and Requeim for a Dream, although they're not really "popular" movies - just very well liked in some circles. Movies that would make my list:
- Pearl Harbor (don't know how popular it is, but God I hate it)
- The Aviator
- Dirty Dancing

The others that would make my list are dumb action films, like Speed, Twister, and The Island. I don't like many of these kinds of films, and they consistently gross well, but whatever, the genre is just dumb.

wtf, Donnie Darko and Req For A Dream are both super popular and revered. And Pearl Harbor got terrible reviews.

Do you know how much they grossed, in theaters or sales/ rentals? I don't have any idea, but I'll bet you it's nowhere close to what would be considered "popular." I could be wrong though.

As it should have. As should all Michael Bay movies (I'll give an exception for Armageddon, which was decent). But that doesn't seem to stop them from being popular.
