Flop: (t7800) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets t6000, Button calls t6000. Turn: (t19800) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero ????. Couple questions: PF is pretty straight forward what do we think about the flop bet and specifically the flop size? Can there be an argument to check hoping to check raise or if leading is the best opition is smaller better or bigger for that matter. After the flop whats my action on the absolutely ugly 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. |

Re: Ugly spot for a flopped set, 3 hours deep in the 3.00 rebuy
I don't see how the 8 of hearts is ugly enough for us to worry about. Yes 10 j is a part of his possible range given the limited read. However so is a flush draw, a middle q, a smaller pair, etc... at this point 4 hands beat us:
QQ probably would have reraised p/f. Not very likely given the betting line. 710 or 57. Both not likely calling bets p/f or on the flop. This a nearly impossible holding IF the villain is playing "straightforward." 10J is the most likely holding IF we are beat. And if thats the case, so be it. Do not check as that may give the free card that villain needs if he is on a flush draw. Bet w/ confidence to the point of getting all in if needed, even if he did turn the nuts we still have outs. Good Luck! |

reads on your opposition? if he's likely to try to take the pot away with a bet, check raise all in although passive or aggro i still like a bet better.
do whatever gets the chips in the middle. |

HotRod,
PF and flop look good. Checking the flop sucks because there are a bunch of turn cards that kill your hand or your action. Only logical hand 8 completes is JT. Bet 15k and call a push. |

No real reads on the villian he was new to the table about 2 orbits ago.
Yeah exactly JT is a stretch too scary a board to check. Just wondering on bet sizes |

Re: Ugly spot for a flopped set, 3 hours deep in the 3.00 rebuy
there are so many draws that giving a free card seems nothing sort of a disaster here, even if villain is the type to bet the turn when checked to almost always.
15000, ofcourse call a push. pray the river blanks. |
