This happens when I give blood too. Next time ask them to let you lie down while they take it and things will go much smoother.

at that angle it seems like it would not cause death, just horrible serious injury.

I have a problem with this and asked to have this done the second time I gave blood. I commenced to passing out as soon as I stood up from the bed, so I'm not sure if it really matters.
