Default Whats a good 100m dash time?

Okay, so one of my goals for the new year is to work on my speed and athleticism. I've always been very dilligent about lifting weights, but I have not run or done cardio work consistently for a long time.

I'm more interested in working on high intensity conditioning rather than endurance. One of my goals is be able to run a 6 minute mile by April 15. I haven't timed myself on a track recently, but judging from what I did on the treadmill yesterday I'm probably at about an 8 minute mile now.

Anyway, my question for you guys is what is a good 100m dash time that is comparable to a 6 min mile? In other words, if a 6 min mile is the X percentile, what 100m dash time is the same percentile.

I realize that sprinting speed is more genetic and harder to train than mile time, but I'd like to have an idea of what to shoot for.,

Thanks.

World record is around 9 seconds. Shoot for that.

Sprinting/ Vertical is almost all genetic.

Unless you are out of shape training won't improve your 100 too significantly.

The mile on the other hand can be brought down A TON with mileage and proper training.

Id also say that a 6 minute mile equates to a 13.8 second 100m.

I ran about 11.5 in HS and was the fastest white guy on the track team. Fastest guy overall was like 10.9.

Are these hand times or FAT?

Hand 100m times mean pretty much nothing.

For smallish definitions of almost all. Genetics are key when dealing in world class but to dismiss training is laughable.

Regarding your later extrapolation of 100m via mile time, the right answer is inconclusive.
