Default Petrino is the new Falcons coach.

I still think June Jones would have been cooler, but not a bad choice going with Petrino.

It'll be interesting to see how much flak he takes for skipping out on Louisville only a year after signing a big extension.

He signed for 10 years for $25 Million on the extension with Louisville.

His contract with Atlanta is for 5 years and $24 million.

He's the biggest [censored] [censored] in the world. Glad to see him gone out of my state and my favorite form of football.

Don't know much about him except he supposed to be a fairly creative offensive guy. Will he come up with some plays to take advantage of Vick's skills - i.e. rollout and throw-run.

Hard to see him lasting 5. Then he'll go somewhere like Whatever Tech for a couple years, than zip to like FL State to replace Bowden.

I'm the all-time dead-horse beater on this subject, but 10 yrs/$25KK at LVille where you're God, or 5yrs/$24KK under the microscope with Mike The Killer & the national media unloading on you from Day One?

I mean, other than Jimmy Johnson (a special case, to put it mildly), have any of these gypsy coaches had a career & lifestyle you'd take over those of Bowden, Paterno, or Osborne? Cowher, Belichik & Jerry Sloan are about the last pro coaches to ever have the owners 100% in their corners and the local media completely whipped.

And the media thinks Pete CarrLOLL would ever consider going somewhere like AZ? IMO, building/sustaining a college dynasty>>>>>>taking a shot with Jerry Jones, Al Davis, or the Bidwills. And after the first 10KK, WTF's the difference?

The NFL & NBA are large steps down (other than short term jack) from running a major college program. Sine qua non is Butch Davis, tho they're countless others. Hayden Fry, Gene Keady, & John Cheaney knew wassup.

Bingo, but he'll probably go straight to FSU. He was my coach and it sucks that he's gone but don't worry DC, Jurich will find another coach to own UK.

"I can't tell you how happy I am with the commitment and the confidence that Tom Jurich has in me and the university has in me," Petrino said after signing the contract. "I also wanted to make sure that everyone understood, I know I've said it, that this is where my family wants to be. This is where I want to be. I want everyone to really believe it."
