Where is Johnny Chan from?

i assumed vegas...but I was in my local chinese cafe/boba shop in southern california and i see him eating with family, which made me think...what the hell is he doing here and where is he from? (wiki didn't exactly help)

Originally from Guangzhou, China also known as Canton, China. Not sure where he lives now but I would guess he spends a good amount of time in Vegas.
