NL50 6max - KK against good and aggressive player
I have Villian at 18/11/4.5 over several hundred hands. I know he has thousands on me because he told me some other time. I'm 17/14/3.5 and I think he respects me as a good TAG player.
My question here is if and how I could have played this differently. Should I have pushed on the river as the board paired? Pushed turn? My reasoning for the turn call was that since he showed so much strength and is generally aggressive I might as well let him bet again on the river. I was a bit nervous, though, as I only had one pair. i get it all in on the turn, but i guess it depends on how loose he is.

Re: NL50 6max - KK against good and aggressive player
What does the flop checkraise generally signify from a solid TAG? He probably wouldn't try to strong-arm you out of the pot with 77/66, so are we often looking at an AJs-type hand?

You were behhind postflop, what are you beating where a nit check raises you like that post flop?

Re: NL50 6max - KK against good and aggressive player
well he shouldn't have 89s or 45s, so IMO we're looking at a minimum of TJs (but I don't like his flop play with that hand), but most likely 77/66/AJs, maybe even JJ. tell me how weak this is

Re: NL50 6max - KK against good and aggressive player
to take an opposite angle from my post above,
we are CO and raised preflop and c-bet, couldn't he be putting a move on us or even think he has the best hand with like 55/88? he doesn't know we have KK. I agree after the turn and river action those hands get less likely, but it seems like he should have some range on the flop |

Re: NL50 6max - KK against good and aggressive player
This line could mean a bunch of different things from a good, aggressive player. Is the flop raise a semibluff draw, a worse made hand, a better made hand, or a bluff? All of those are possible. Are the turn and river bets for blocking, value, or value representing blocking? All these things are possible.
In short, a read beyond PAHud is critical to playing this hand correctly. You might see me play this hand 10 different ways depending on those reads. |

Re: NL50 6max - KK against good and aggressive player
OK, an addendum to my reads. This is a bit flimsy, though, as a couple hundred hands is not enough to make the following a solid read (he could just be running well).
Villian is tight pre-flop but definitely not a nit post-flop. In fact he wins many hands by fearlessly putting in big bets on all streets. |
