I could go either way on this river raise. It looks like it could be J9 or other rivered hand, or also something like A9 or AJ. Don't do it if you can't fold to a 3-bet though.

I don't think you can check/call the river since you are on the button. On the river it looks like he is playing WA/WB and could just have some hand like A9. You would expect him to check-raise a rivered two pair since you seem to like your TT+ on the turn (AK/AQ checks behind usually). So a river donk could mean JT or something like that. So I think I like your river raise if you intend on folding to a 3bet.

im fine with the raise fwiw as i put him on QJ or J10 a ton here, but tom recently in a similar spot made an argument about why u shouldn't raise river donks with one pair.

ur folding to a 3bet rite?

im guessing u ran into 2pair based on ur tone in ur post. if he wont 3 bet those kinda hands here im feeling pretty great about raising my overpair.

Absolutely folding to a 3 bet. Opp is not a bluffer and wouldn't 3 bet to bluff, (and if he does more power to him), and could have bet out on one pair really believing he was best and that I had A high.

A good player will probably fold to your raise with a weaker hand and your raise is only of value if you get called by a worse hand. You could get three bet by a better hand. A bad player will make silly donk/calls on the river.

Depends on your read of player. Usually I would just call.

You have to be willing to fold to a three bet.
