NL25: Made a mess with AA
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
BB ($38.20) UTG ($39.15) Hero ($24.45) CO ($13) Button ($29.20) SB ($51.65) Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises to $1, 3 folds, BB raises to $4, Hero calls $3. River: ($16.10) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets $30.2 (All-In) What's the best move here against an unknown preflop? I'm under the perhaps mistaken impression that a lot of players around here don't feel it's necessary to 4-bet AA/KK in position. Obviously, the flop sucks for me, since KK/QQ just pulled out in front, and JJ/TT will be unwilling to call a raise. I figure at this point I probably just want a cheap showdown. Fold the river, yes? |

Re: NL25: Made a mess with AA
keep it simple...push preflop
at these levels you will be absolutely shocked at what you will get called by. As played raise flop or bet turn Fold river..you are completely lost in the hand, getting terrible odds, and have one pair. |

4-bet PF like always against an unknown.

Re: NL25: Made a mess with AA
Unless I think villain can lay down KK pre-flop, I'm almost always 4 betting.

Re: NL25: Made a mess with AA
As others said, you may be able to get it ai pf with a 4-bet pf.
As played, raise the flop. You check here, and you have no idea where he's at. On the river, I'd call. You're getting 2/1, he checked the turn, and the river isn't completing any draws. If he flopped 2 pair or better and was going to get tricky, he'd check the flop, not the turn. Just because he put in 2nd raise pre-flop doesn't mean he has KK or QQ. |

Re: NL25: Made a mess with AA
Why didn't you reraise PF?
And why'd you flat call the flop? And about that turn........ You play better than this. No need to post the hand. Onaflag.......... |

Re: NL25: Made a mess with AA
Fair enough. But doesn't pushing preflop make things too easy on AK/QQ/JJ? Or are we counting on my opponents playing too poorly to appreciate my generosity?
