Default Oregon Ducks pound the #1 UCLA Bruins

Wow. Who woulda thunk the mighty Bruins would drop a game in Eugene?

Seriously, Mac Court is one of the toughest places to play for a visiting team in the country.

Anyone watch the game? Why didn't UCLA go for overtime?

They messed up. They only really had players on the perimeter. They took a bad 3 to end the game.

Losing by two points is a pounding?

Oregon almost gave the game away at the end by taking shots with plenty of time left on the shot clock.

Well, UCLA didn't have the lead once after the first couple minutes of the game... They were dominated throughout by the mighty Ducks.

You make it sound like this was some double-digit blowout. They lost by 2 points on the road against a top 20 team.

Anyone who watched the game knows the Ducks had them dominated almost from start to finish.

The score made things look closer than it really was.

When one team has a last second shot to win the game, I think it's reasonable to consider it a close game...

Dude, I'm probably the biggest duck fan here and while the score was closer than the game, we didn't dominate.

First half we shot lights out and played good D but had turnover and especially rebounding problems. Second half was solid but I think the way our ducks couldn't put it away - in particular they pretty much collapsed at the end and took some unbelievably poor shots in the last 5 minutes - I don't think you can say we dominated.

Either way it was a solid and important win, especially without Malik. With him back we can beat anyone in any gym on our day. It was especially nice to get this win after the tough loss against USC.

Forget it. I watched the game.

We will agree to disagree.

The Ducks made a lot of mistakes late to put UCLA in a position to be within a basket.

I should have clarified that I also watched it.

Oregon played very well, but for long stretches of the game it felt like the teams were pretty much even. Most of the second half we were up 6 or 8, it didn't move much.

I do agree that dumb mistakes late caused the game to be closer. Something Ernie's teams have always had problems with is shooting discipline. I remember Freddie and Alex Scales taking some ridiculous shots in key spots.
