Default Sean Payton Coach of the Year

Not even close in the voting. Did people really believe Eric Mangini had a chance in this?

Not very surprising. Saints were a feel good story. Voters love that stuff.

Racism. Lovie Smith should have won this year.

Well, that doesn't make sense. Why penalize Payton because he put together a better team?

I'm torn on this one. While I think Payton was a great choice, you can argue Mangini also. However, I think NO is a lot better than the Jets, and since it can be argued that they were both in the same ballpark at the end of last year, Payton gets the knod for me.

But then couldn't you argue that Mangini should get the argument since they were both in the same ballpark at the end of the year and Mangini did it with less?

Its not penalizing him. Its giving Mangini more credit because he did more with less. Isnt that what a great coach does?
