Default A freeroll

There was some confusion the other day as to what a freeroll was. This is a freeroll:

Poker Stars
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $1/$2
6 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (6 players) Brian is UTG+1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG folds, Brian raises, CO calls with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Button calls with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (9SB, 4 players)
SB checks, Brian bets, CO calls, Button calls, SB folds.

Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6BB, 3 players)
Brian bets, CO raises, Button 3-bets, Brian folds, CO calls.

River: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (13BB, 2 players)
CO checks, Button bets, CO calls.

Results:
Final pot: 15BB

How is this a freeroll?

Make your hand KJ and then you have a freeroll.

Freeroll = Can't lose, probably chop, might win. You guys are both drawing dead on 4th street. Give someone KJ and they will probably chop but a heart will give the button the win. He would be in a freerolling position in that case.

You assume too much, grasshopper. Look at the hand, again, maybe a little more closely this time.

Make CO's hand KJ and then button is freerolling him. As is, button is just crushing him.

I agree with shillx. Maybe I'm retarded today, but yes, 2/3 players are dd at the turn. Don't see any freeroll.

I agree this is not a freeroll as Button has the hand won.

Freerolling is when two guys have the exact same hand, but one has outs to win outright

This is freerolling

SB has A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
BB has A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

On the turn the board is
2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

BB is freerolling.

The classic freeroll comes in NLHE. It doesn't really apply to LHE though. Say the board on 4th is

A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

If you have the Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] you should generally go all-in no matter if you are freerolling or not. Anyone with a naked queen will be put in a tough spot since they might be putting all their money in while drawing to 40% of the pot. Applies to tournaments and cash games.

Could you consider a hand a freeroll when the villian is allowing you to draw for free?
