Now Tony G has his own pokersite as well? This is SO friggin' sad. Not only for the picture on the main page, but LOOK EVERYONE, they have a 10K guaranteed tournament every MONTH!
There's so much crap poker on tv nowadays, everyone trying to cash in and make a buck, and the same goes for these pokersites as well. Everyone and their brother trying to create the "next big thing". I guess give them props for at least trying, but do we really need Pamela Anderson poker, Tony G poker or any other d-list celeb or d-list poker player trying to create some crappy site? Bwah-ha-ha-ha! ![]() |

I know it's sad that I'm replying to my own thread a half second later, but good lord check out the "gallery" of Tony G pics.
I think that's what sold me on signing up at his site to play the $25 freerolls, w00t! Tony G's Oh So Sexay Gallery |

[ QUOTE ]
Oh, no! Competition is bad! [/ QUOTE ] I don't have a problem with competition, it can be good, or it can just further dilute what was a nice beverage. Look at poker shows on tv. Aside from High-stakes poker on GSN, the only other poker shows that are watchable are the main ones, the WPT and WSOP events, and even those have gotten iffy over the years. Do we really need to see a bunch of no-names in the Mansion Dome sitting there all silent in their sunglasses? Or Phil Helmuth pretending to like people as the host of Celeb Poker Showdown? Or the horribly structured Poker Superstars series which is just one big all-in fest? Or the worst of all, the Boston vs. NY challenge? And I'm sure there's a plethora more bad tv shows out there that have really diluted the market and made poker less enjoyable to watch in a way. Kinda like the reality tv explosion, some of it was cool at first, until everyone and their brother got into it and everything became so scripted. The same holds true for poker on tv and poker sites online, I don't believe any of the newcomers have done much to make themselves stand out from the largest sites, so what chance do they really have? |

So what's your beef? If you don't like them, no one's forcing you to use those sites or watch those shows.

I believe TonyG Poker is a "skin" of the GamesGrid site. They and "Naked Poker" brought some new players to that small site. Mostly low-limit NLHE. Some nice low-limit overlay in guaranteed tourneys, so it's a fair site for someone who wants to grind out an initial bankroll.
