River: (t17140) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: t17140

Villian had been playing pretty loose and played pretty passive on the flop. I'm sure I made an error here in not re-raising enough/pushing the flop but wanted to scoop the pot as it was rather large post flop.

If I was gonna play this hand, and I usually would, I would push preflop.

Pushing isn't overdoing it?

Just think about what you said here and how it affects the way you should have played pre flop.

Pushing is only 5.5x his bet. If you were to make a normal reraise to 3x his bet, it would be half your stack, so that's why I would push. His initial raise of 7xBB is what is overdoing it.

Risking your entire stack with nothing on the flop being deep stacked is bad. this move maybe good when one of you are short stacked
Calling or reraising and getting called is not good as you need see 5 cards with AK vs a probable poket pair.
If you reraise him he is going all-in almost sure if you push yourself you are 47-43 underdog most of time or even worse

So the best thing you can do is probably folding AK

if having 10 BB or less i thing pushing here is good but i do not know the exact number of BB is right pushing here

I usually would just push preflop. The reaon I'm not huge on it is because if I'm CO, I'm calling that little raise with most pairs I would have raised PF and then calling that bet because it looks exactly like AK...if you had something stronger you probably would have played it a little more trappy. I actually prefer this play with a stronger hand because it doesn't look strong; maybe that's just how I perceive a lot of plays, though.

I usually push preflop since a good reraise commits too much of your stack. Whats with opponents monster raise PF, though? Its way too big but it effectively ties you to the pot if you want to play unless you want to call PF and fold flop without a pair, which is kinda weak.
