HOLY COW
Steve Paul-Ambrose has been suffering and enjoying a teeter-totter day. At one point he was up to 65K. Then, later, Steve raised to 1,100 under the gun and got a call out of the big blind. On a flop of K73 with one diamond, both players checked. The turn was an eight of diamonds. Steve bet out 2.5K and the big blind raised to 9K. Steve called. The river wad the three of diamonds. The big blind pushed for 60K, covering Steve. After thinking for a long time, Steve mucked 77 for sevens full of threes. His stack was reduced to 50K (still not a bad number to have at this point).

Re: HOLY COW
BB must have had exactly 88 for this to make sense to me. Bad fold?

Re: HOLY COW
or 33. or a very very weird KK. Steve plays really good and doesnt usually make huge folds.

Re: HOLY COW
I don't see how that fold can possibly be good.

It's not like Steve had shown that much strength to think he's gonna call the push. 60K is a huge overbet. Unless there's the "he'll think i'm stealing, so I push my quads" thinking going on. |

Re: HOLY COW
Probably some sort of live tell he picked up on. Maybe villain jumped out of his seat when the 8 hit and yelled "jackpot baby!"
How does the reporter know that Steve had 77? I guess he mucked them face up, which seems kind of odd. |

Re: HOLY COW
Was this Cardplayer?
If so Steve actually having A7 and Cardplayer messing up makes a LOT more sense. |

Re: HOLY COW
MLG, which site is this from?
Either way, this hand is baffling since the fold seems weird and the fact that Steve mucked 77 faceup seems weirder. |

Re: HOLY COW
Defending PCA champion Steve Paul-Ambrose is at the river with the board showing K 7 3 8 3 . His opponent, the player on his right, moved all-in. Steve was in the tank for a couple of minutes (long enough for me to set up for the photo!) and then tossed his pocket 7s (for a set of 7s) face up onto the felt, surrendering the big pot.
