Default Home Game: Too many?

I will be hosting a home game soon and what started out being around 8 people has now turned into possible 12 to 13 playas. If it ends up being 12-13, should I have 2 tables going or does it work to have 1 table of 10 going and rotate 1 player in every orbit with a diff player sitting out an orbit? I think that some might not want to play a short-handed table of 5 or 6. We don't want to do any kind of a tourney either

I've always run two tables when that happened. But then again, my home game have always consisted of people who ate and breathed shorthanded and headsup play so it was never a problem.

If you've got people who a) won't play short handed and b) don't want to wait until someone at the main table busts out, then explain to them that they've created an insolvable problem for you, and that they need to bring a buddy or two to the game to fill up table 2.

I guess I'll run 2 tables if need be. It will just have to go that way.

Sitting someone out every X-amount of orbits is kind of rediculous. Either you're in the game or not.

Ask the players that were there first if they mind breaking into two short tables, but if they object then tell the late arrivals they have to wait or call a couple buddies to fill it up.

Well, looks like I won't have to worry about having too many, now it is too few!! A bunch of guys flaked on me today last minute so it is now going to be about 6 guys. Oh well, either too many or not enough.

2 tables...keep them balanced until you're down to 10 - then combine.

I had a bunch flake at the last minute last night and we ended up going 6 and we all liked it very much. We even played 5 handed and everyone liked it a lot more than thye thought they would. Most times I have a hard time getting enough to play at all.

Most of the time when we play at home were also with 12-13 players. Most of the time we play a small rebuy tournament then. When there are 9 or 10 players left we move to one table so the other table can play cashgames.

When we are with 10 or less players we mostly play cashgames.
