Getting short late on in a tourny, playing 6 handed and pretty much left with a push/fold stack. Do you push in either/both of these spots?
cutoff $14,635 button $4,890 sb $3,740 bb $3,900 UTG $11,425 MP $5,900 Hero has A6o UTG called 400 1 fold Cutoff called 400 1 fold sb called 200 Hero ? Utg has been limping a lot preflop. Cutoff has been playing a good aggressive game and sb has been in push/fold mode until this point. Two rounds later on my small blind. Villain $14,235 cutoff $4,890 button $4,940 Hero (sb) $3,500 bb $11,025 utg $5,900 Hero has KQo 1 fold. Villain raises t1200 2 folds Hero ? Villain hasnt been playing well but not overaggressively and he isnt folding to any raise I make. I'm real short, is this the time to get my chips in or can i afford to wait a few hands? |

Hand 1 - fold, cause you don't have any fold equity and your hand is pretty weak.
Hand 2 - Much closer. I think a case can be made for either pushing or folding. Or even a stop&go. Given your read (not overly aggressive) I probably fold and wait to open push any 2 cards. |

villain is the CO if hand 2?
i think KQ is pretty similar to his range. only way to get FE is to stop and go so id probably do that. |

Got to agree with the stop and go sentiments on the second hand, and probably fold the first one.

Just check first hand, you will get called in this situation. Second situation you are too desperate to let it go with KQ...stop and go seems fine but I wouldn't fault you for just pushing in and hoping to double, his range is wider at a short table.
