And my luggage is missing. wtf. What now?

Hey everyone.

Just got back from a trip today (LAX-CHI Midway)and my luggage didn't show up. (Half of it did, my suitcase did not.)

Anyone here at OOT ever had a similar problem, and what should I do now? I already went to lost luggage claim and filed the early reporting.

most airlines have a max settlement of 2600$ make sure u had 2600$ worth of stuff in the bag. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

but since u did an early reporting of what was in the bag, its probably to late and you lose.

This happened to me shorly after 9/11. It was a huge pain in the ass. I believe I had to wait 2-3 days for them to try and track down my bag. When it did not turn up I had to submit a claim. I don't remember the exact amount that was allowed but I believe the earlier poster ($2600) was about right.

The thing that sucked the most was you had to have a receipt for anything over $25 (I could be off a little on the amount) Of course this was most of my clothes, so I had to make up some huge list of BS just to get what I was owed
