Default My Theory on Micro MTT\'s & SNG\'s

It is well known that position is usually the most important aspect in NL hold'em. But at these micro levels, Im going to say your cards matter more than position as a raise meant to raise for value/steal blinds in LP will usually not get early limpers to fold J10, Q9s, A7s etc...

True or False?

Cards and position matter in microlimits the same way as in high stakes. It's simply that micorlimits are looser (for any position) nothing more nothing less ... ;-)

The advantage you gain by being in position is realized after the flop... therefore, if they are calling more with those hands, you can benefit MORE in low limit games from being in position with premium hands.

I guarantee I can win with AA, even if I'm out of position.

I can't guarentee that I can win with 72o in position.

Therefore, I agree with the meaningless statement that cards matter more than position.

Position is still important in loose games because even though it's harder to bluff, it's easier to control the size of the pot and take free cards.

Of course cards matter, but that's a pointless statement. Over the long run, everyone will get the same cards. Not the same situations, but at least the same cards. Position is extremely important in lower limit games.

He is saying "hand selection" not "hand reception."

Whether players are calling too much or folding too much position matters.

In a tight game, you call with position to set up a steal. In a loose game you like to have position to set up a monster.
