No PT stats on villain, but he is aggressive and seems to be one of the better players at the table. He might be somewhat frustrated since I've been raising _a lot_ and not showing down many hands (I've had aces 5 times the last hour which I actually wrote in the chat. Add several AK/AQs, KK and a couple of steals and it's likely that he wants to fight back when he gets the chance).
Folded around, hero raises in CO with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], villain reraises on the button, folded to hero who calls. Blinds are tightish and not so good postflop, but it seems like a marginal steal at best. Fold? Flop: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (7,5 SB) Hero checks, villain bets, hero raises, villain reraises, hero calls. I think that a flop donk might be better. What's you flop play? Turn: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6,75 BB) Hero checks, villain bets, hero calls. I immediately regret my turn play. b/c > c/r > c/c, agree? River: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (8,75 BB) Betting is good, but if you were the villain, could i b/f this river safely (in what would be almost 12 BB)? |

I don't personally raise this PF, but it's probably not that crazy.
I would stay away from a flop check-raise - you may never be able to fold AK before the showdown because of the wheel draw. I c/c. I like a lead out on the turn. You just drew out on so many of his holdings. River is just brutal. I would probably check/call it. He might be able to get away from black kings here so how much value is there to bet/fold? But he might bet them in behind to fold black ace queen... who knows. |

I'd definitely raise preflop with your winning table image.
I like the c/r, as long as you bet any turn. I think he's just countering by 3 betting; it's a well known move to c/r with a draw. Turn c/c is ok imo. Sort of wa/wb situation. Not quite, but sort of. River card sucks. Probably bet. Or do you think he'd spot a clarkmeister and bluff raise without a heart? Doubt it. |

I'm going to agree with honeybadger and say Clarkmeister the river. Flop is ok. If you had more info on the villian, you could more easily c/r, but I don't think c/r or c/c is all that bad. That said, I think c/c the turn is the only way to go. But yeah, B/F the river.

You don't think he'll check behind with QhQx and see a free river? I haven't turned a set in six years, so why do you think both players are going to turn two outers. I like a bet because you can probably get black kings to call down sometimes... and you want to charge him if his pocket pair includes a heart.

(maybe I just didn't understand it, looked like a reply for a different hand, but it also had elements of this hand...hmmm interesting) |

The idea was that if he had AK, then you both hit a two-outer on the turn - same odds as turning a set. I was just trying to say that it was much more likely that he has a big pair (especially given the flop raise), and therefore you can't count on him to bet in behind. Because there are already three hearts out there, you don't want to give him a free card because he probably has 11 outs if he has a heart.
Sorry it was so confusing. |
