Default 5/10NL (6max) is my set no good?

Villain is 40/30/1.56 over 99 hands. No other reads, except i think villain might be afish, but not confirmed yet.

Effective stacks $1500

Hero dealt 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
3 folds, Hero raises to $40, SB folds, BB calls

Flop ($85) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
BB checks, Hero bets $65, BB calls

Turn ($215) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
BB checks, Hero bets $175, Villain calls $175

River ($566) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
BB bets $565, hero folds

At the time, not sure if it was something to do with the timing or what, but i just felt certain he had me beat, and my river fold seemed like the right thing. Looking back on it, i'm thinking i maybe should of called, in fact this hand has got me completely confused. Who calls, who folds?

Im not folding a set here. I know the guy isnt that aggro, but he has a high enough aggro to be river bluffing. he could have just caught two pair and thought it was good.

I cannot speak for the rest of the forum, but I for one, do hate you.

with stacks so big, i don't see why it's a sin to check the turn. we don't really know where villain stands and checking the turn would make the river play a little easier to play.

okay okay maybe i've been raised too many times in the turn here. say hero plays it accordingly to the turn and gets raised to 800. what's the correct line here then.

I think he is chasing his 4th[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (if he had the flush he probably would have "min"raised you in some spot) - i would call the river bet. I just donīt see it adding up.
