I fold the flop and I don't see anything on the turn that would make me think that raise will work. I'd be more inclined to raise a seven or a ten on the turn, but I probably wouldn't even do that.

I think the flop call is ok. You are getting 6-1 with two overs and a backdoor straight draw. The straight draw isn't worth much, but it's kinda weak to just fold.

I just dump it on the turn. I think if he's got something worth betting on the turn he's going to call this raise down. Of course, if he's donking A7 on the flop, he should fold the turn. It's really hard to put this guy on a hand that doesn't make a pair. Hands he could coldcall preflop I suppose are 44/55 type hands. I don't know what else cc's preflop and then bets out on the flop and turn. So I would be playing against him like he has a pair on the turn, where I would fold.

id like ur plan for this hand better if u held 10-9 or some hand with a real reason to be in there so ud likely have more pot equity and ur bluff wont have to work as often to show a profit.

i think after this player donks the flop its gonna be hard to move him off his hand just becuz u "rep" an overpair if his image of u is aggressive

this hands a bit different but if im in villains shoes in a blind battle against a taggish aggressive player like urself and i bet this flop with an 8 or even a 2 i bet this turn with the intention of calling down expecting u to bluff raise it or value raise/free showdown with a lot of weaker holdings ud be liable to peel the flop with .

It looks like he likes to check/raise alot, so why wouldn't he do that if he has a pair?

I would just fold without a read that he likes to donk with nothing, the only semibluffing hand that makes sense is T9s, so we need him to be outright bluffing a good portion of the time. Does the fact he check/raises alot assumingly when he hits mean he has nothing here often enough?

Fold the flop man, fidn a better spot to play at him you have J high and if he has a pair he aint ever folding.

i think it's a-high a lot of times, which folds the turn a lot.

i wish that the turn weren't a heart, because villain probably knows that i'm capable of raising two hearts there, in which case he calls the turn and probably talks himself into calling the river w/ a-high.

i also think that he c/rs any pair on the flop.

Villains with those stats are c/ring a pair almost 100%, and donking the flop with air a really high percentage of the time. The low nature of the board makes a donk bluff extremely enticing to a borderline TAG/LAG. His high turn aggro shows that he's either folding a lot on the turn or betting and raising too much on the turn, either of which make Hero's raise even better. With his decent wtsd, I think we're doing this successfully &gt;50%. I like it.

If you're not raising here, are you ever pure bluff raising a turn in limit hold em?

Edit: This is definately not something I'm doing every time, probably 10-20% of the time. I still like it here though.

At the limits I play (2/4, 3/6, and 5/10) I see little value in outright bluffing on the turn. I actually think of OP's raise as more of a semibluff, which I don't really have a problem with, though I probably just fold.
